Winter Ball's Top Prospects: Who They Are and Where They're Playing in 2026-27

Twenty-four of the players ranked among Major League Baseball's top 100 prospects or their MLB club's top 30 prospects by MLB Pipeline are currently playing winter ball in Latin America.

The most notable is Jesus Made, the No. 1 ranked MLB prospect, a 19-year-old in the Milwaukee Brewers organization who made an immediate splash in winter ball, clubbing a solo homer in his first at-bat for the Tigres del Licey in the Dominican Republic's LIDOM.

In Venezuela's Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional, Alfredo Duno, rated the Cincinnati Reds' No. 1 prospect by MLB Pipeline, is playing for the Leones del Caracas after a stellar age-20 season split between High-A Dayton and Double-A Chattanooga, where he hit 19 homers and drove in 68 runs in 97 games between both levels.

Jhonny Level, an infielder in the San Francisco Giants chain, is rated the No. 43 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline and is playing for the Aguilas del Zulia in the LVBP after posting a .887 OPS in 113 games combined between Class-A San Jose and High-A Eugene.

LIDOM's Gigantes del Cibao have two of the top 100 prospects in infielders Roldy Brito, rated the No. 2 prospect in the Colorado Rockies organization and No. 52 overall by MLB Pipeline, and Jefferson Rojas, who MLB Pipeline has crowned the top prospect in the New York Mets organization and the No. 68 prospect overall.

Catcher Leo Bernal, the No. 4 prospect of the St. Louis Cardinals and the 80th ranked prospect overall, will likely have a chance to handle a former Cy Young Award Winner in Trevor Bauer with the Estrellas Orientales of LIDOM this year.
