Trevor Bauer will make his first start for the Estrellas Orientales on Tuesday, Oct. 27, when the Estrellas host the Aguilas Cibaenas at Estadio Tetelo Vargas in San Pedro de Macoris, D.R.

The 2020 Cy Young Award winner made the announcement in a post on X on Thursday afternoon.

Bauer, 35, has mostly played abroad since he was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers after completing a 192-game suspension handed down under Major League Baseball's domestic violence policy, having spent the 2023 and 2025 seasons in Japan with Nippon Professional Baseball's Yokohama DeNA BayStars and 2024 in Mexico with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico, where he won the Pitcher of the Year award and the Diablos claimed the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol championship. He started the 2026 season with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League before returning to the Diablos Rojos del Mexico.

Tuesday's start with the Estrellas will mark Bauer's first career appearance in a winter league.

Gigantes del Cibao (3-2) 6, Toros del Este (3-2) 5 (10 Innings) - Tied at 5-5 going into extras, Juan Brito's sac fly in the top of the 10th gave the Toros a lead, but an RBI triple in the bottom of the frame by Agustin Ramirez tied the game at five apiece. With one out, Kelvin Gutierrez hit a grounder to short that Wilmer Difo mishandled, allowing Ramirez to score the game-ending run for the Gigantes. Starter Aaron Brooks allowed three hits and struck out three over five scoreless innings for the Toros, and Juan Brito went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBIs in the loss.
