It's far too early to say who's the favorite to win the LVBP's 2026-27 MVP.

Each of the league's eight teams has played no more than 14 games in the 56-game regular season, so there's still plenty of baseball left to play.

Regardless, we'll identify the standout players thus far and highlight why they could hoist the MVP trophy at season's end.

First baseman Balbino Fuenmayor, last year's MVP with the Caribes de Anzoátegui, hit .330/.394/.617 with 17 home runs, 48 RBIs, and a 1.011 OPS.

LF David Peralta, Bravos de Margarita - Even at 39, Peralta has shown he can still swing the stick. He leads the LVBP with a .444 batting average and already has four home runs in 12 games. The former Major Leaguer is drawing walks at a 30.5% rate and is very comfortable in a Margarita uniform, having spent five previous seasons with the club.

RF Hernán Pérez, Caribes de Anzoátegui - Like Peralta, Pérez is a former MLB veteran who seems to have little trouble adjusting to LVBP pitching. His five homers are the most in the league, and a 1.022 OPS is not too shabby either. Perez, who won the 2020-21 LVBP MVP, is one of the main reasons the Caribes are 11-3 and in first place before this weekend's games.

3B Yangervis Solarte, Tiburones de La Guaira - Sensing a trend? Solarte, 39, joins Peralta and Perez on the list of former MLBers who are off to scorching hot starts. He went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in the opening game of the 2026-27 season, a 10-6 victory against the Navegantes del Magallanes. Solarte already has 20 hits and 12 RBIs in 14 games, putting him on pace for 80 hits and 48 RBIs over a 56-game season.

Honorable Mentions

RHP Bryan Cáceres, Caribes de Anzoátegui

LF Gabriel González, Caribes de Anzoátegui

3B Lenyn Sosa, Leones del Caracas
