Fifteen years after bringing Mexican winter league baseball across the border, the Mexican Baseball Fiesta is ready to celebrate its quinceañera with another season of baseball, music, food and culture in Arizona.
The Mexican Baseball Fiesta has announced its 2026 tour dates, returning to Phoenix and Tucson for a milestone 15th anniversary celebration.
The event will bring the excitement and tradition of the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico to Arizona, combining professional baseball with live entertainment, authentic Mexican food and a festive atmosphere that has become a signature of La Fiesta.
The 2026 tour will begin in Phoenix from Sept. 25-27 at American Family Fields of Phoenix before moving to Tucson from Oct. 1-4 at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium.
In Phoenix, fans will see teams including the Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Águilas de Mexicali, Yaquis de Obregón and Jaguares de Nayarit, along with the Arizona Wildcats. The weekend schedule features games at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25; 5:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.
The Fiesta will then head to Tucson for its 15th-anniversary celebration, highlighted by the University of Arizona opening against Hermosillo.
For fans, the experience extends well beyond the baseball field. Unlike a traditional Major League Baseball game, Mexican winter league baseball features a lively, party-like environment, with music playing throughout the night, mascots interacting with fans and crowds dancing in the stands.
Concession stands also offer regional favorites such as Sonoran hot dogs, tacos and tortas.
That atmosphere reflects the popularity of winter league baseball in Mexico, where the sport commands a following comparable to Major League Baseball in the United States. Because the Mexican Pacific League plays during the MLB offseason, its rosters can feature Mexican stars, top Latin American prospects and active MLB players preparing for the next season.
The league's longstanding rivalries also cross the border. Teams from cities such as Hermosillo, Obregón and Mexicali bring decades of history and passionate fan bases with them when they play in Arizona.
The Mexican Baseball Fiesta was founded in 2011 by Francisco Gamez, a former professional pitcher who spent 10 seasons in the Mexican Pacific League, and Mike Feder, a longtime minor league general manager who previously led the Tucson Padres. Today, the organization remains a family operation, with Gamez's son, Frank Gamez III, serving as CEO.
Over the years, the Fiesta has grown into more than a baseball event. Teams such as the Naranjeros have developed a strong presence in Arizona, including youth baseball clinics that have expanded from roughly a dozen participants to hundreds of local children.
The 2026 Phoenix ticket options include VIP tickets for $60, which include private bar access, two tacos and a soft drink, box seats for $28, general admission for $23, and discounted tickets for seniors, military members, students and children ages 6-16 for $15.
After 15 years of bringing the sounds, flavors and rivalries of Mexican winter baseball to Arizona, the Mexican Baseball Fiesta enters 2026 with a celebration built around the same elements that made it a tradition: baseball on the field, culture in the stands and a community that continues to grow on both sides of the border.
