The 2026 Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente draft took place on Monday night in Puerto Rico.

Each of the league's six organizations took turns selecting players they hope are the next top stars in the winter league.

The rookie draft featured five rounds and a compensatory round. The Senadores de San Juan had the first overall pick, followed by the Indios de Mayagüez, Criollos de Caguas, Gigantes de Carolina, Leones de Ponce, and Cangrejeros de Santurce.

Any drafted player under contract with a Major League Baseball organization is not required to play for their new LBPRC club. Still, that team holds the player's winter ball rights.

Notable Selections

With the first overall pick in the draft, the Senadores selected shortstop Justin Lebron. The 21-year-old was selected 18th overall by the Cincinnati Reds out of Alabama in June. He got his first taste of professional baseball this past season, hitting eight home runs with a .940 OPS in 23 games at High-A Dayton.

The Indios selected right-handed pitcher Jorhan LaBoy with the second overall pick. The Puerto Rican native played four years at Alabama State and posted a 1.76 ERA in four starts with the Frontier League's New Jersey Jackals this summer.

Outfielder and Toronto Blue Jays farmhand Edgardo Villegas went to the Criollos with the third selection in the draft. He spent most of the Florida Complex League season on the injured list after being acquired from the Frontier League's Aigles de Trois-Rivières. Villegas had a .748 OPS in 30 plate appearances with the FCL Blue Jays.

The Gignates took shortstop Aiden Ruiz with their first-round pick. The Pittsburgh Pirates farmhand was a second-round pick in the 2026 MLB Draft, opting to start his professional career over his previous commitment to Vanderbilt. According to the New York Post, the Queens native trains with New York Mets All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor during the offseason.
