The Korea Baseball Organization's NC Dinos have signed a temporary pitching replacement.

According to Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net, right-hander Mike Clevinger has agreed to a six-week contract with the Dinos.

Clevinger, a nine-year Major League Baseball veteran, replaces the injured Curtis Taylor. The righty has a mild tear in his right supraspinatus muscle, per Chosun Biz.

Clevinger last pitched in the Majors with the Chicago White Sox in 2025. The 35-year-old has spent most of his career as a starting pitcher, but he posted a 7.94 ERA with eight walks compared to just three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings out of Chicago's bullpen.

From 2017-20, Clevinger was a frontline starter in the Cleveland Guardians rotation, posting a 3.02 ERA with 9.3 strikeouts per nine innings in 200 frames in 2018. Injuries and off-the-field issues have led to a sharp decline in production.

During this past offseason, Clevinger signed a minor league deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He recorded a 4.74 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings at Triple-A Indianapolis. He was granted his release a few weeks ago.

This will be Clevinger's first professional baseball experience out of affiliated ball. The Dinos are in the thick of the postseason race, currently two games behind the Doosan Bears for the fifth and final playoff spot.

MLB closed an investigation involving Clevinger in 2023. He faced no discipline after the mother of one of his children accused him of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse toward both her and the child.

The investigation included interviews with "more than 15 individuals," including Clevinger and the complainant, according to a report from ESPN's Jesse Rogers and Jeff Passan in March 2023.
