The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs revealed their 2026 fall exhibition schedule. The schedule features four games. Two out of those four games are against Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) teams.

A look at Gardner-Webb's 2026 fall exhibition opponents

The first two fall exhibition opponents for the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs come from the ACC.

On September 19, they will play the Virginia Cavaliers on the road. In 2026, Virginia finished with a 37-23 overall record and a 14-16 record in ACC play. They made the 2026 NCAA Tournament and played in the Hattiesburg regional.

The 2026 season was also Virginia's first year under their new head coach, Chris Pollard. Pollard was previously the head coach of the Duke Blue Devils.

On October 3, Gardner-Webb will play the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. In 2026, Wake Forest finished with a solid 39-21 overall record and a 16-14 record in ACC play. The Demon Deacons made the NCAA Tournament and played in the Morgantown regional.

The Demon Deacons have made the NCAA Tournament for five straight seasons.

After facing two ACC teams, the Runnin' Bulldogs will have two more fall exhibition games against mid-major competition.

On October 10, they will play the Queens Royals at home. Queens finished with a 16-38 overall record and a 11-19 record in Atlantic Sun Conference play.

This past season, the Royals played Gardner-Webb on the road in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. On April 14, the Runnin' Bulldogs demolished Queens 11-1 in a midweek game. The game ended after seven innings by way of a run rule.

Gardner-Webb's last fall exhibition game in 2026 will be at home against the Wofford Terriers on October 16.

In 2026, Wofford finished with a 34-22 overall record and a 12-9 record in Southern Conference (SOCON) play.

Gardner-Webb and Wofford played each other this past season on April 28 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Runnin' Bulldogs shut out the Terriers 6-0 in that midweek matchup.

Gardner-Webb 2026 Season Results, big-time offseason

In 2026, the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs finished with a 25-30 record and a 10-14 record in Big South Conference play.

Despite finishing the season below .500, Gardner-Webb put together a solid offseason. According to 64 Analytics, the Runnin' Bulldogs landed the number one-ranked transfer portal class in the Big South Conference. It is also a top-80 transfer portal class nationally.
