The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers revealed their 2026 fall exhibition schedule. They will play four opponents this fall.

Here is the 2026 fall baseball schedule for the Hilltoppers:

  • Indiana State Sycamores vs Western Kentucky Hilltoppers - October 3

  • Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles vs Western Kentucky Hilltoppers - October 10

  • Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs Mississippi State Bulldogs - October 18 - (Jackson, Tenn.)

  • Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs Evansville Purple Aces - October 24

In 2026, Western Kentucky finished the 2026 college baseball season with a 30-27 overall record and a 14-16 record in Conference USA play.

Hilltoppers to face Indiana State and Tennessee Tech at home in the fall

The first two games during the fall for Western Kentucky are against the Indiana State Sycamores and the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.

Both of those games on the first two Saturdays of October will be at home for Western Kentucky in Bowling Green. The Hilltoppers were a solid team at home inside Nick Denes Field last season, finishing with a 22-14 record.

Indiana State finished the 2026 college baseball season with a 30-27 overall record and a 15-9 record in Missouri Valley Conference play.

The Hilltoppers and the Sycamores played a weekend series in Bowling Green this past season from March 6-8. Western Kentucky won the weekend series, winning two out of the three games they played.

Tennessee Tech did not have a great 2026 season. The Golden Eagles finished the season with an 18-37 overall record and a 6-21 record in Ohio Valley Conference play.

Western Kentucky played Tennessee Tech in a midweek matchup this past season on March 31. The Hilltoppers dominantly won 12-0.

It is worth noting that the Golden Eagles left the Ohio Valley Conference and officially joined the Southern Conference (SOCON) in July.

Neutral-site matchup against Mississippi State

After two home games against mid-majors in the fall, Western Kentucky will play a third matchup against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The game will not be in Bowling Green and will also not be in Starkville.

Instead, the two teams will head to Jackson, which is in West Tennessee, and play at Jackson Rockabillys Stadium. The ballpark is home to the Jackson Rockabillys. They are a team in the Prospect League, which is a wood-bat collegiate summer league.

In 2026, Mississippi State had a great year under first-year head coach Brian O'Connor. The Bulldogs finished with a 43-19 overall record and a 16-14 record in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play.

Mississippi State hosted and won a regional at Dudy Noble Field. They went on to play the Georgia Bulldogs in the Athens super regional at Foley Field.

Final fall matchup on the road in Evansville

The final matchup in Western Kentucky's 2026 fall exhibition slate is against the Evansville Purple Aces. That game is on the road at Evansville's home ballpark, German American Bank Field.

In 2026, Evansville finished with a 21-33 overall record and was 13-11 in Missouri Valley Conference play.
