Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Robert Gasser has been sensational during the 2026 postseason. He has a 1.00 ERA in starts and nine innings. During the 2026 NLCS, Gasser threw five scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers in game three. He also had three strikeouts in that game and has six total strikeouts in the postseason.

The 27-year-old southpaw has played a pivotal role in leading the Brewers to their first World Series since 1982. Not too long ago, Gasser put a fantastic college baseball season together for the Houston Cougars.

Gasser and his 2021 season with Houston

After throwing just 7 ⅓ innings during the 2020 college baseball season, Gasser showed he was one of the best pitchers in the American Conference during the next season.

With the Houston Cougars in 2021, Gasser had a 2.63 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 85 ⅔ innings. He won six games in 14 starts for Houston and allowed an opposing batting average of .215. Gasser was top three in the American Conference that season in both ERA and strikeouts.

The left-hander was also a first-team All-Conference player in 2021. D1 Baseball named him the “top draft-eligible pitcher from an analytical standpoint” in the American Conference.

After the 2021 college baseball season with the Cougars, Gasser was selected 71st overall in the 2021 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres. In 2022, the Milwaukee Brewers received Gasser in a trade that sent closer Josh Hader to the Padres.

Gasser ended up making his Major League debut with Milwaukee on May 10, 2024, against the St. Louis Cardinals. He earned the win on the mound, giving up no earned runs and striking out four hitters in six innings.
