Pericos de Puebla (4) 10, Piratas de Campeche (3) 4 – Antonio Santos allowed one run on two hits over five innings, striking out four and walking one, and three different Pericos had two RBIs each as Puebla sank the Piratas' playoff hopes with a four-games-to-one series win capped by a 10-4 win in Game 5 Saturday night.

Luis Castro went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Pericos,Herlis Rodriguez, who went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIS, and Samar Leyva hit a solo homer for Puebla.

Andrew Stevenson hit a two-out homer in the top of the second, with the homer being the lone blemish on Santos' start.

The win moves the Pericos on to the second round of the playoffs, while the Piratas are eliminated. Puebla will wait for the results of the other two playoff series in the Zona Sur to determine their next opponent.

Diablos Rojos del Mexico (1) 11, Guerreros de Oaxaca (6) 0 – Jon Singleton hit a two-run homer, Franklin Barreto hit a solo shot, Trevor Bauer threw four scoreless innings and the Diablos bullpen maintained the shutout, allowing one hit over five scoreless innings as the Reds stomped the Guerreros to even the series at three games apiece Saturday night.

The Diablos got five runs in the second, with Ramon Flores and Robinson Cano each hitting RBI singles, Carlos Sepulveda getting a run home with a sac fly, and Singleton capping the inning with a homer.

Barreto led off the second, homering on the first pitch he saw, and the Diablos piled six more runs on the tally.

Mexico's pitching held the Guerreros to three hits and a walk, and Puebla went 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position.

With the win by the Diablos, both teams will advance to the second round regardless of the outcome of the series, which will conclude with Game 7 this afternoon at 4 p.m. EDT at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu in Mexico City.
