Sultanes de Monterrey (3) 5, Charros de Jalisco (4) 5 – Socrates Brito's seventh-inning single scored Josh Lester and Maikel Franco to get the Sultanes past the Charros and on to the second round.

Brito went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs, clubbing a two-run homer in the first. Jose Cardona and Josh Lester each had an RBI single for Monterrey.

Jalisco will also advance to the second round as the Zona Norte's team that lost the first round but advanced by winning the most games by virtue of a tiebreaker, having finished fourth in the regular season standings.

Michael Wielansky, Jared Walsh, and Jose Herrera each homered for Jalisco.

The Charros will face top-seeded Tijuana in the second round of the playoffs, while Monterrey will face No. 2 seed Durango. The Series de Zona is expected to start on Aug. 19.

Pericos de Puebla (4) 5, Piratas de Campeche (3) 2 – Vladimir Gutierrez allowed two runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings for Puebla, walking one and striking out seven, and his batterymate Michael De La Cruz drove in a pair of runs to help his cause as the Pericos took a 3-1 series lead on Friday night.

De La Cruz grounded out to first to score Henry Ramos from third base in the second inning, and added an RBI single in the eighth.

Cal Mitchell went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Piratas, and Abraham Almonte hit a solo homer in the sixth.

Game 5 is tonight at 6 p.m. EDT, with R.J. Martinez starting for Campeche against Antonio Santos for Puebla.

Olmecas de Tabasco (2) 14, Bravos de Leon (4) 9 – The Olmecas hit three homers in the first and scored four runs in the top of the ninth to win Game 5 and take a 3-2 series lead over Leon, outscoring the Bravos 6-2 in the five innings played on Friday night after the game was suspended due to rain after four innings Thursday.

Gabriel Cancel hit a three-run homer in the first, and Connor Panas went 2-for-5 with two homers and three RBIs, hitting a two-run homer in the first and a solo homer in the ninth. Aderlin Rodriguez also homered in the opening frame, hitting a solo homer immediately after Cancel's three-run jack.

The win puts the Olmecas a win away from advancing to the second round of the playoffs. Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday night at 8 p.m. EDT, and a Sunday win by Leon would likely assure both teams move on to the second round regardless of who wins the series.
