Diablos Rojos del Mexico (1) 12, Guerreros de Oaxaca (6) 8 – Scoring eight runs over the first three innings, including a two-run homer by Juan Carlos Gamboa and a three-run shot by Orlando Arcia, the Diablos took Game 7 of the first round series from Oaxaca.

Both teams advanced to the second round of the playoffs, though, due to the LMB's unique playoff format, where the team that loses a series in the first round but wins the most games advances.

Along with Arcia, Julian Ornelas drove in three runs, plating runners with a sac fly in the first, a ground out in the sixth, and a single in the eighth.

Carlos Perez, Franklin Barreto, and Gamboa each had two RBIs for the Diablos in the win.

Juan Santana hit a solo homer in the loss for Oaxaca.

With the win, the Diablos advance to face the Pericos de Puebla in the second round, while the Guerreros will face the Olmecas de Tabasco. Both series will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Olmecas de Tabasco (2) 4, Bravos de Leon (5) 3 – Alan Espinoza's solo homer in the bottom of the seventh scored the game-winning run for Tabasco, giving them a four-games-to-two series win over Leon.

Oscar Gonzalez had an RBI single for Tabasco in the fourth, Angelo Castellano got another run with a sac fly in the same inning, and Gonzalez scored later in the inning on a wild pitch.

Jimmy Kerrigan hit a two-run homer for Leon in the loss.

The Olmecas will face the Guerreros de Oaxaca in the second round, which will begin Wednesday. The Bravos are eliminated.

Second Round Matchups Set - The second round begins on Tuesday, when the two series in the Zona Norte begin in Tijuana and Durango.

The two series in the Zona Sur will begin on Wednesday in Mexico City and Tabasco.

In the Zona Sur, the No. 1 seeded Diablos Rojos will face the fourth-seeded Pericos de Puebla, while the No. 2 seed Olmecas de Tabasco will face the sixth-seeded Oaxaca.

In the Zona Norte, division-winning Tijuana will face the Charros de Jalisco, while the Caliente de Durango will face the Sultanes de Monterrey.
