The two-time defending LIDOM champion Leones del Escogido have announced their coaching staff for the upcoming season.
Ramon Santiago, who led the Leones to the 2025-26 LIDOM title and a berth in the 2026 Caribbean Series, will return as manager for the coming season, with Charlie Valerio serving as assistant manager and Ronny Paulino as bench coach. Guadalupe Jabalera will be the Leones' first base coach and Hector De la Cruz will coach third base.
Roberto Girón will again serve as bullpen coach with Renny Pérez returning as the bullpen catcher. Ramón Lubo, Juan Mota, and Alex Germán will also return as assistant coaches.
José Miguel Mendoza has been promoted to quality control coach, Wagner Ramírez was named assistant to the coaching staff, and Sammy Apolinar will serve as bullpen assistant.
Edwin Beard, the hitting coordinator at the New York Yankees Dominican Republic academy, has been named the Leones' offensive coordinator.
Pedro López will return to Escogido as an infield instructor, and Eddy Ramos will be a pitching assistant.
The Leones also named Perry Husband the Director of Competitive Strategy. Husband is well-known in elite baseball circles for his work in applying science and analytics to baseball through his Effective Velocity methodology.
The 2026-27 LIDOM season starts on Friday, Oct. 16, when the Leones del Escogido host the Tigres del Licey at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal.
