APBN Batting Champ Munoz Signs With Estrellas - Dominican infielder Deivi Munoz is returning home this winter, according to a tweet from Nicaraguan baseball journalist Fernando Rayo.

The native of San Cristobal, D.R., has signed with the Estrellas Orientales in LIDOM after leading Nicaragua's APBN in batting last year with the Tren del Norte, batting .385/.425/.489 in 33 games, going 52-for-135 with 10 walks, two homers, and 24 RBIs.

Munoz played the 2023-24 and 2024-25 winter seasons in Colombia, appearing in 69 total games with a .297/.349/.346 slash line.

Prior to playing in Colombia, Munoz played in the New York Yankees organization in 2018 and 2019, rising as high as High-A, where he went 5-for-29 in 12 games with Tampa in 2019.

A bit undersized at 5-foot-8 and 153 pounds, according to Baseball-Reference, Munoz' play in Nicaragua has earned him a chance to play at home on one of winter ball's biggest stages.
