Former Major League pitcher Mike Clevinger has signed with the Tigres del Licey in the Dominican Republic after pitching the second half of the 2026 season with the NC Dinos in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Clevinger, 35, last appeared in Major League Baseball with the Chicago White Sox in 2025, making eight relief appearances totaling 5 2/3 innings with a 7.94 ERA, striking out three and walking eight. In nine MLB seasons with San Diego, Cleveland, and the Chicago White Sox, Clevinger made 164 appearances and 142 starts, throwing 809 2/3 innings with a 3.55 ERA, 822 strikeouts and 299 walks.
With the NC Dinos, Clevinger made five starts, throwing 21 2/3 innings with a 3.74 ERA and 22 strikeouts against 16 walks. Before going to South Korea, he made 17 appearances at Triple-A Indianapolis in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, posting a 4.74 ERA in 24 2/3 innings. He had been used mostly in relief in the Pirates' organization, making two starts in the Florida Complex League and one at Triple-A out of 22 appearances across three levels.
Clevinger mixes a changeup, cutter, and sweeper with his primary pitch, a four-seam fastball.
The Tigres' pitching staff has the lowest team ERA in LIDOM thus far this year, with a 2.81 mark over 112 total innings, a league-leading 1.045 WHIP and has struck out 119 batters while issuing just 40 walks.
