The Estrellas Orientales have signed Cuban pitcher Richard Guasch as an import player for the 2026-27 season.
Guasch, a right-handed reliever, joins starting pitcher Trevor Bauer, outfielder Ismael Munguía, reliever Patrick Weigel, first baseman/third baseman Josh Lester, and outfielder Harold Ramírez as imports on the Estrellas roster. Each LIDOM team is allowed 10 import players.
He has pitched in affiliated baseball since 2018, largely working in relief in the Oakland A's, Washington Nationals, Detroit Tigers, and Baltimore Orioles systems, rising as high as Double-A.
With the Orioles' Double-A affiliate, Guasch threw 22 2/3 innings in 2026, posting a 4.76 ERA with 32 strikeouts and 12 walks in the 2026 season, and has 131 2/3 innings pitched in Double-A in his career with a 4.65 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. Guasch has one season of winter ball experience, which came with the Caribes de Anzoategui in 2024-25, where he made 27 relief appearances totaling 16 innings with a 5.67 ERA and 27 strikeouts.
Toros del Este Add Eeles To Import Menu - Payton Eeles, a 26-year-old infielder and outfielder in the Baltimore Orioles organization, has signed with the Toros del Este as an import for the 2026-27 season.
He joins pitchers Aaron Sanchez, Carlos Rodriguez, Spencer Turnbull, Aaron Brooks and Joe Corbett as imports on the Toros.
Eeles has spent parts of his first three professional seasons at the Triple-A level, first appearing at the top level of the minors with St. Paul in the Minnesota Twins chain in 2024. He played 150 total games with the Twins top affiliate in 2024 and 2025 before he was traded to the Orioles on Nov. 21, 2025 for second baseman Alex Jackson.
With Triple-A Norfolk this year, Eeles played 65 games, slashing .271/.390/.324 with two homers and 20 RBIs. In his career, he has a Triple-A slash line of .272/.394/.374 with 14 homers and 82 RBIs in 892 plate appearances.
