Amedee can return because of a recent court ruling in Colorado by Judge Charlotte Sweeney. The ruling states that high school graduates from 2022 can have a fifth year of collegiate eligibility. Amedee falls under that description, which allowed him to return to Louisiana.
Amedee and his career with the Ragin' Cajuns
Amedee has shown steady development and progression during his four seasons with the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. He has improved his general hitting numbers in each of his four seasons. The 2026 season was his best year to date.
Amedee had a .300 batting average this past season with an on-base percentage at .449. He also had 12 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, and 54 RBIs.
The Louisiana infielder had 18 multi-hit games this past college baseball season.
Amedee was also a much-improved player defensively in 2026. He had 456 putouts with a 1.000 fielding percentage. He had zero errors this past season.
Heading into 2027, Amedee will be one of the premier players to watch in the Sun Belt Conference. His return provides the Ragin' Cajuns with not only leadership, but also a bat and a glove that can flat-out win them multiple games.
Louisiana 2026 season results
