What happened in Game 4

Parma scored in six different innings and out-hit San Marino 14-12.

Robel Estiwal García Rodríguez hit a three-run home run in the fifth. Riccardo Flisi doubled home two in the seventh, and Parma added two more that inning on a Tommaso Battioni sacrifice bunt and a fielder's choice. Noel González Sanamè and Ericson Leonora each singled home a run in the ninth.

San Marino answered late. Williams Wong homered in the fourth, Gabriel Eloy Lino Correa singled in a run in the ninth, and Ortwin Hose Pieternella Vargas homered to center — but it wasn't enough.

The series

The Scudetto Final runs Aug. 27 through Sept. 6 as a best-of-seven. Parma leads 3-1 and needs one win.

Parma is one of Italy's oldest clubs and represented Serie A in the 2026 Baseball Champions League Europe alongside Nettuno. San Marino, playing at home in Serravalle, is one of the most decorated programs in Italian baseball.

Why it matters beyond Italy

Italy went 4-0 in Pool B at the 2026 World Baseball Classic in March, beat the United States 8-6 and Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals, and lost to eventual champion Venezuela in the semifinals. Roughly seven million people watched at home on a broadcast that started after 1 a.m.

Serie A Gold is where that national team comes from. The league's All-Star Game returned in June after a ten-year absence, and Italy still has to qualify for the 2027 Premier12 through a tournament in Barcelona in October.
