The Milwaukee Brewers won the World Series this year for the first time, but for some members of their team, it was their second championship this year.
William Contreras, Jackson Chourio, Angel Zerpa, Antonio Senzatela and Major League Field Coordinator Néstor Corredor all won the World Baseball Classic with Venezuela earlier this year.
They joined Alex Bregman and Luke Gregerson as the only players to win the World Series and World Baseball Classic in the same season. They both won with Team USA and the Houston Astros in 2017.
Zerpa was on the injured list for the World Series, but he was a member of the Brewers this year. They acquired him in a trade this offseason with the Kansas City Royals.
Senzatela came over to the Brewers in a midseason trade, and he, Contreras and Chourio were huge contributors in October.
Senzatela pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings in October. Contreras slashed .373/.448/.588 with three home runs and nine RBIs in the postseason. He also won World Series MVP.
Chourio slashed .288/.306/.424 with two home runs in the postseason. He also hit a walk-off single off Mason Miller and tallied 11 hits in the Fall Classic. He fell three hits shy of the all-time record for hits in a single World Series.
He also tied Babe Ruth for the most hits through four games in a World Series with 10.
As for Contreras, he joined Salvador Perez and Yoshinobu Yamamoto as the only players to win the World Series, the World Baseball Classic and World Series MVP.
