Major League Baseball returns to a cornfield in Dyersville, Iowa tonight for the first time in four years, and it is bringing more Hall of Famers than any game since 2008.

What channel is the Field of Dreams game on?
Netflix, exclusively. There is no television broadcast. No Fox, no ESPN, no local RSN, no MLB.TV. A Netflix subscription is the only way to watch.
It streams globally. This is the first Field of Dreams game to air on any streaming service, and the third live MLB event on Netflix after Opening Night and the Home Run Derby.
NBC Sports' Sunday Night Baseball production team is producing it under Netflix's creative direction, with MLB Network co-producing the pre- and postgame shows.

More than 25 Hall of Famers
The pregame ceremony is the reason to tune in at 6:30 rather than 7:30.
MLB is bringing more than 25 living Hall of Famers onto the field in Dyersville. The league believes it will be the largest gathering of living Hall of Famers at a single game since the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium, where 49 convened during that ballpark's final season.
The uniforms
Both clubs are in historically accurate throwbacks built by Nike and New Era.
Minnesota goes back to 1961, the franchise's first season after relocating from Washington. White with navy pinstripes, no trim, navy "Twins" script with red outline slanting across the chest, the tail of the final letter underlining the wordmark. Navy numbers with red outline on the back, no names. The original "Minnie and Paul" logo — the two figures shaking hands across the river — as a sleeve patch. Navy cap with a red button and the interlocked "TC" in white and red. Navy socks.
The Twins wore that set through 1971, a run that included the 1965 American League pennant and division titles in 1969 and 1970. Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, Jim Kaat, Bert Blyleven and Luis Tiant all wore it.
Philadelphia wears its road greys from 1939 through 1941. Red "Phillies" script with navy outline, red and navy striping on the sleeve cuffs and down the pant legs, navy cap with a bold red "P."
The sleeve patch is a replica of the one every club wore in 1939, celebrating what was then believed to be baseball's centennial — back when the sport still credited Abner Doubleday with inventing it in Cooperstown in 1839.
The Phillies were terrible in it. They lost at least 100 games in each of the three seasons they wore the set, including 43-111 in 1941. Hall of Famer Chuck Klein wore it during his second and third stints with the club.
Where exactly is this?
The ballpark sits in Dyersville, Iowa, roughly 500 feet from the actual movie site. It is a purpose-built major league regulation field surrounded by corn — not the movie diamond, which remains intact nearby.
Fans who enter the film location can have a catch on the original diamond, play cornhole in the outfield, and walk the corn path to reach the MLB field.

Field of Dreams game history
2021 — White Sox 9, Yankees 8, on a Tim Anderson walk-off home run after Chicago erased a 7-4 deficit.
2022 — Cubs 4, Reds 2.

The Triple-A Iowa Cubs hosted the St. Paul Saints in Dyersville on Tuesday, and the MLB High School All-American Game was played there Wednesday, managed by Jim Thome against Torii Hunter. Fourteen active major leaguers have played in that game, including Jordan Walker, Kevin McGonigle and Nolan McLean.
Why this game matters
Both clubs are in a race.
Philadelphia at 64-58 is tied with Arizona for the third and final National League wild card, with San Diego right there.
Minnesota at 60-62 is a half-game behind Texas for the third AL wild card and 3½ behind the White Sox in the Central, tied with Detroit.
This opens a three-game series. Both teams are off Friday, then finish at Target Field over the weekend.
Aaron Nola is the story
Nola is 3-9 with a 5.47 ERA, which is not what makes him interesting tonight.
In March he pitched for Italy at the World Baseball Classic, his first time in the tournament. He went 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA in two starts — eight hits, one run, two walks, eight strikeouts in nine innings — and made the All-WBC team.
He struck out five over five scoreless against Mexico. Then manager Francisco Cervelli handed him the semifinal against Venezuela over previously announced starter Michael Lorenzen. His four-seamer averaged 92.8 mph that night, nearly a mile per hour above his 2025 average.
Italy beat Team USA 8-6 in pool play behind Lorenzen and went 4-0 in the group before Venezuela ended it. Venezuela then beat the United States 3-2 in the final, with Maikel Garcia named Classic MVP.
Nola came back to camp with a story that had nothing to do with pitching.
"We had some good chicken parmigiana over there, and some good wine," he said.
Italy's hitters downed espresso shots after home runs. They got kissed on the cheek. They wore suits to the ballpark.
"I kind of liked the suits," Nola said. "But I only brought one suit and one T-shirt, so I started to stink a little bit."
Baseball without borders
Ten Phillies played in the 2026 World Baseball Classic across seven countries — Nola for Italy, Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber and Brad Keller for the United States, Garrett Stubbs for Israel, Taijuan Walker and Alan Rangel for Mexico, José Alvarado for Venezuela, Edmundo Sosa for Panama, and Johan Rojas for the Dominican Republic.
Minnesota's contribution was smaller and more central. Byron Buxton made his World Baseball Classic debut for Team USA and started in center field in the championship game against Venezuela, batting ninth — his first time representing the United States internationally. Teammate Joe Ryan pitched for the same club. Pablo López pitched for Venezuela, the team that beat them.
So tonight in an Iowa cornfield, an Italian national team starter faces a lineup with an American national team center fielder in it, five months after both were playing for something else entirely.
The food
Aramark built a custom menu around Midwestern flavors plus Philadelphia and Minneapolis staples: a "Heaven on a Hot Dog" signature dog with sweet corn relish and corn-bacon jam, roast pork sandwich, Philly cheesesteak, Minnesota Juicy Lucy, wild rice bratwurst, elote bites, walleye po'boy, cheese curds and corn dogs.
John Deere is donating 100,000 meals to Feeding America for every home run hit tonight, up to 500,000. A separate volunteer effort has 140 people working with River Bend Food Bank, which supplies more than 400 pantries across eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
The movie
Field of Dreams was released in 1989, starring Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta, James Earl Jones and Amy Madigan. It was nominated for Best Picture in 1990 and added to the National Film Registry in 2017.
Adapted from W.P. Kinsella's 1982 novel Shoeless Joe, it follows Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella, who hears a voice in his cornfield: "If you build it, he will come."
The American Film Institute ranks that the 39th greatest movie quote of all time.
Costner was 34 when it was filmed.
