The Curaçao Professional Baseball League is set to begin its fourth season since its inaugural campaign in December 2023.
The league will once again feature three teams: the Curaçao Suns, Curaçao Goats and Willemstad Cannons. The season will run from Jan. 24 to Feb. 4. Each team will play six games, facing each of the other teams three times. Following the round-robin phase, the top two teams will meet in the final to determine the champion.

For the first time, a team is guaranteed to win its second title. The Suns won the inaugural edition in 2023, the Goats claimed the championship the following season, and the Cannons won last season. There is still the possibility that new teams will be added, expanding the league beyond the three teams that have competed in every previous edition. All games will be played at Tio Daou Ballpark in Willemstad.
Last year, former Chicago White Sox minor leaguer Jurdrick Profar earned MVP honors after his older brother, Juremi Profar, won the award in 2025. Jurdrick went 6-for-12 with two RBIs to help lead the Cannons to their first title.
As in the past two seasons, the winner will advance to represent Curaçao in the Serie de las Américas. For the second consecutive year, the tournament will be held in Caracas, Venezuela, after being played in Nicaragua in 2025. The Willemstad Cannons went 1-5 in Venezuela last year. The Goats reached the semifinals in 2025.
The tournament will feature a record 10 teams in 2027. Champions from leagues in Panama, Colombia, Argentina, Nicaragua, Cuba and Curaçao, along with the runner-up from Venezuela’s Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), will compete in the tournament.
For the first time, teams from Mexico’s Mexican Pacific League (LMP), Puerto Rico’s Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (LBPRC) and the Dominican Republic’s Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) will participate. The runners-up in each league’s championship series will represent their respective leagues in the Serie de las Américas.
