Cullen Scott is reclassifying to the 2027 high school class, according to Baseball Buzz on Instagram. Scott is a right-handed pitcher and third baseman from Texas who plays for Melissa High School.

Scott was the fifth-best prospect in the 2028 high school class. Now, he is the second-best player in the 2027 high school class and also the best right-handed pitching prospect.

Scott has an elite pitching arsenal

Scott is a legitimate two-way prospect. He does have the makings of a power hitter, but his pitching ability is also too good at 16 years old.

A scouting report from the 2026 Perfect Game Jr. National Showcase put it best.

"Clearly a two-way prospect, but mound future too bright at present."

The pitching arsenal Scott has includes a 100-mph sinker and a solid mid-80s slider.

The numbers offensively for Scott were also incredible with the Melissa Cardinals. He had a .578 batting average with 11 doubles, nine home runs, and eight triples. He was named a 2026 Max Preps Underclassman All-American.

Uncommitted and planning to go to college, World Baseball Network's prediction

According to Baseball America, Scott does plan to go to college in order to show off his two-way player ability.

Scott is currently uncommitted. However, according to Perfect Game, his college interests include Texas, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, and North Carolina.

Melissa is located just north of Dallas. Therefore, it makes sense that Scott would stay in-state to play for one of the powerhouse college baseball programs around him. The Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies make a lot of sense for his college career.
