The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association will host games during the 2027 WBSC Premier12 and the 2028 Olympic Qualifying Tournament, a pair of major tournaments that will qualify teams for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, according to a report from Taiwan's Eastern Broadcasting Company.
Both the Taipei Dome, a state-of-the-art 40,000-seat ballpark in Taipei City and Tianmu Stadium, the home of the Chinese Professional Baseball League's Wei Chuan Dragons, are expected to host games in both events.
Chinese Taipei is the defending champion in the WBSC Premier12 after they beat Samurai Japan 4-0 on Nov. 24, 2024 at the Tokyo Dome.
The highest-placing teams from Asia and either Europe or Oceania at the 2027 WBSC Premier12 will qualify for the 2028 Summer Olympics, as will the winner of the 2028 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
A press conference has been called for Aug. 17, 2026, where further details of both events will be announced by Koo Chung-liang, the chairman of the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association.
