Blaine Brown will miss the 2026 fall baseball season for the Tennessee Volunteers, according to Volquest's Mike Wilson.

Brown is missing fall baseball due to an injury he suffered while playing in the Cape Cod League over the summer. He underwent surgery on his left elbow to repair the injury.

This injury also means the Tennessee two-way player will be unable to pitch during the 2027 college baseball season.

Last season, Brown pitched three total innings for the Volunteers and recorded five strikeouts. Three of those strikeouts came in a game against the UNC Asheville Bulldogs on February 17.

According to Wilson, Brown is expected to be a "full-go offensively" in 2027.

Brown transferred to Tennessee for the 2026 college baseball season after playing his freshman season for the Rice Owls in Houston. While at Rice, he was the team leader in hitting with a .292 batting average and was also a part of the American Conference's All-Freshman team.

In 2026 with Tennessee, Brown finished with a .240 batting average. His hitting took some lumps in Southeastern Conference play, where he hit .233.

However, Brown was able to show off some power in 2026 in Knoxville. He had 13 home runs and had 42 RBIs.

Brown spent his summer playing for the Brewster Whitecaps in the Cape Cod League. He finished with six hits. Two of those hits were doubles.
